PART 2 PROPOSED COMPANY OFFICERS
The company officers are the individuals who will be involved in the day-to-day operations of the company. In Companies House terms this means either a director or a secretary. The company will need at least one natural (human) director who is over the age of 16. There is no longer a requirement to have a company secretary however you may add one if you wish.
Secretary Appointments (B1 - B3)
You may appoint one or more secretaries for your company. The secretary would normally attend to the filing and compliance issues associated with Companies House. It is no longer essential to nominate a company secretary however if you do then you will need to provide the secretary's full name and service address.
A service address is a UK postal address through which Companies House can contact the secretary. It does not necessarily have to be the residential address and you can use the registered office address for the company.
Should you need to enter more than one secretary, please use the continuation sheet provided below:

For corporate appointments you will need to supply the name and address of the company being appointed along with the name of an authorising officer from the appointed company.
From October 2009 corporate appointments must also include details on whether the company resides within the EEA, the country of registration, company number, legal form and governing law.

Any appointed director must be 16 years of age or over and cannot be an undischarged bankrupt.
Service Address
A service address is a UK postal address through which Companies House can contact the director. Each director must supply a service address that is situated in the UK. The service address does not necessarily have to be where the director lives and can also be the company's registered office address.
Please note: The service address will appear on the public record.
Residential Address
In addition to the service address, each director must also provide their current residential address (if different from the service address). The residential address can be in the UK or abroad. The residential address will not appear on the public record and will only be accessible to a number of government authorities.
Section 243 Exemption
You can apply for exemption under section 243 of the Companies Act 2006 to withhold your residential address from credit reference agencies. You would need to attach the relevant form to your IN01 application.
